AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): In a memorable journey the neighboring countries armies from India and Bangladesh has kicked off a cycle rally on March 22 at Agartala City.
In this regard a 19 member Bangladesh army delegates had arrived in Tripura on March 19 and at Akhaura Checkpost the armies received a grand welcome.
Total 30 members (15 from India, 15 from Bangladesh) began the journey led by Lt General A S Bedi and Bangladesh Major Sajjad and they will pass via Sonamura border on April-4 they will be arrived at Agartala.
It’s worthy to mention here that the Bangladesh Army is the land forces branch and the largest of the three uniformed service of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to provide necessary forces and capabilities in support of Bangladesh's security and defence strategies including defence of the nation's territorial integrity against external attack. Control and operations are administered by the Department of the Army of the Armed Forces Division.
The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India serves as the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff, who is a four-star general.
