AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): A special session on Opportunities in Food Processing with Low Cost & Efficient technology under Make-in-India project was held on Saturday.
The programme took place at Agartala Pragna Bhawan, TIWN reported.
Madhupurna Bhowmik, Add. Director of Indian Chamber of Commerce, H Purushothom, Chairman & Managing Director of National Research Development Corporation, Dr D P Sarkar, Director Dept of Agriculture and Horticulture, Govt of Tripura, V G Jenner, Dept. of Industries & Commerce, Nagaraju Maddirala, Principal Secretary of Dept. of Industry and Commerce, govt of Tripura were present and discussed about the mentioned topic.
However, it was said that as per the FDI policy there are two plus (+) points as :
- 100% FDI is permitted under the automatic route in food processing industries,
- 100% FDI is allowed through government approval route for trading, including through e-commerce in respect of food products manufactured or produced in India.
