AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): On the day of 68th Anniversary of Universal Recognition of Human Rights Tripura Commission for Women’s Chairperson Manika Dutta Roy said, “We have to think, while a man is free to roam after night 10 PM, then why there are so many obstacles only for women. Why women feel lack of security?"
“Through proper security, awareness and proper utilization of human rights we can overcome the situation”, said Roy.
“I have a very little knowledge about Human-Rights, but as far as I believe the basic rights for living are not given to women of our society”, said Roy.
“There are lakhs of women, who are not allowed to place their views also in their family matters, even though we are going through 21st century”.
“Earlier women didn’t have voting rights also, the right was first established by women of America”, she added.
“In India, even in Tripura also women-men are not equally paid in many works”, Roy said.
