TIWN July 11, 2016

AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): Tripura Health Minister Badal Choudhury should come out from his low class mentality and learn to talk like a Minister, and then only he can lecture the masses about social issues. Badal Choudhury on the occasion of World Population Day-2016, when the health dept. officials mentioned about contraceptives to prevent increasing population, Minister said, ‘properly take care about contraceptive distribution as this is a prime reason behind increasing (sex) crimes’. Badal Choudhury’s comment however proves his ordinary mentality of relating contraceptives with increasing sex crimes, as he talked just like an ordinary villager that condoms are causing mass-social problems. Surprisingly, Minister was silent about the increasing rapes, torture on women, and many women’s deaths due to plenty children production in rural Tripura.Whereas in 20th century, people began to put forward the effect of population control as a justification for regulation of fertility, independent of economic concerns, Tripura’s 21st century’s health Minister’s speech over contraceptives created controversy.
His speech seems like the madrassa type Muslim-politicians who think that God's command to “To Be Fruitful and Multiplying childrens”.
However, Minister also said that Globally India’s population is very high which is resulting massive unemployment throughout the country and thus India stands as the highest number of illiterate people’s state.
He also mentioned about various negative sides of the huge population including poverty, unhealthy children-birth etc.
But Health Minister from which angle said that the crimes are increasing due to use of contraceptives, it’s not at all clear.
