KAMALPUR, July 10 (TIWN): The trumpeted demands of the present state government of unrestrained and true development and the stride to make so-called ‘more developed’ Tripura seemed a mockery to many of the inhabitants of the state who never found any practical presence of the development in their locality.
Moreover, when the locale found their urgent demands being long neglected by the administrative officers as well as the party leaders, then the so-called demands of development seemed to them as tales of Utopia. And the same thing happened to the inhabitants of Kachimchara under Ambassa sub-division.
The area comprised of almost 90% tribal populace, comprised of almost 1, 500 people. They suffered for many basic facilities like safe drinking water, easy accessibility and proper health and education. The people in this locality remained mainly farmers and their produces claimed a larger share in supplying the sub-division to meet the agricultural needs.
But, this area remained deprived for long leftist regime for a want of a durable bridge. It happened as a culvert built during the Sukhomoy Sengupta regime broken some 20 years ago. Then local people knocked the ruling party leaders and the PWD(R&B) officials for years after years.
But they got only assurance and a temporary bridge which remained unusable for the maximum time of the year. The condition of the bridge remained so poor that even a cart full of vegetables or a rickshaw full of rice bags dared to cross the temporary bridge.
In this context, the plight of the locale became worse. BJP Ambassa Mondal leader Gopal Sutradhar claimed it as a planned deprivation of the present state government as maximum of the locales remained attached with opposition. He demanded that, the state PWD should adopt early measures to remedy the problem completely.
