KAMALPUR, June 15 (TIWN): The much trumpeted demand of the Nagar Panchayat authority to make it a clean town along with all-round development remained a mere political lucrative term. The directives of the Nagar panchayat remained confined in its documents. And due to the lack of minimum effort to implement the directive, both public and private works continued to violate rules at their will.
Almost one and half years ago, the Nagar Panchayat issued a directive instructing all to not to heap the construction materials by the road. And the directive also made it clear that, the offender would be punished heavily. However, this directive bore no result at all. And both the public and private works heaped their construction material by the roads. The authority failed to collect fine in a single incident.
However, it also spark question about the public conscience as keeping the town clean and green also remained a duty of each and every citizen. And most painfully, both the lawmakers and the law-abiders found far away from performing their minimum civic duty.
