KAMALPUR, June 10 (TIWN): At the one hand the trumpeting demands of so-called development and distant urbanization used to be aloud day by day.
On the other hand, a gloomy future continued to darken. This scenario prevailed the Indo-Bangla border adjacent sub-division of Kamalpur way back from 1995 when Ambassa was declared as the district headquarter of just formed Dhalai district. Till then nothing significant happened for Kamalpur but the murders of the Minister Bimal Sinha in 1998 and Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Tapan Roy in 2008.
Some projects like Border Haat were planned but nothing was attained. Moreover, the District Court which was preferred to be set at Kamalpur by Judiciary was shifted to Ambassa by the state government.
In this gloomy picture, the Judiciary got all set to gift Kamalpur with a composite building including the Court of the Civil Judge Senior Division. The site got selected. The plan got ready. Now, the PWD would invite bids and after assigning the work to the successful contractor, the work would begin.
The building would have facilities like Courts, waiting rooms for the witness, pure drinking water, canteen facility, parking lot and the like. The Judiciary especially the ADJ Arindam Paul planned to bring the Judiciary close to the common people after the line of the Apex Court.
Now, the citizens remained in eager waiting for the start of the work and its early completion.
