KAMALPUR, June 8 (TIWN): The demand of urbanization which remained to be one of the poll promises of the new board of Nagar panchayat continued to be trumpeted by the board and the party itself. But the ground reality remained so different and shameful that even the Chairperson himself could not have a nice journey to his house.
It seemed something bewildering but it remained a fact that, the quality and extension of urbanization at Kamalpur always remained to be a matter of controversy. And the focus on the rapid and planned urbanization helped CPI-M greatly to be in the power of Nagar Panchayat once again the last time.
After sworn in the power, the Chairperson Subrata Bhattacharjee told TIWN in an exclusive interview that, urbanization remained to be his main aim. And urbanization surely referred to the good and movable roads.
But the roads in the Nagar Panchayat area always remained to be a matter of pain. And after much promises, the present board also failed to remedy the poor condition of the roads.
What remained the most shameful was that, even the road in front of the house of the Chairperson remained deplorable and filled with pot holes and ditches. Then the condition of the other parts of the roads could easily be measured.
