AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): The Assam-Tripura roadway has remained in pathetic shape and vehicles are standing on that way.The awful condition of National Highways of the state which is the only road connectivity that links mainland India has remained a harrowing experience for helpless commuters for a long time now.
The frequent disruption of vehicular movement due to rain and knee level mud on the high way and made the daily transport terrible. This situation has become daily routine for the drivers and the commuters of both the sides.
Asking the workers on the spot, they said that with the rainy season, the NH-44 has turned pathetic as the mud filling work was going on at Assam-Agartala road. Generally muddy roads get risky with the arrival of rain, and at many spots across the construction site at NH-44 had developed with mud-filling & labeling works. As a result, not only the work has been stopped due to rain but it has turned the road into a bad shape since Monday morning.
The vehicle movements have become risky and the agonies of drivers, including passengers has no end.
Despite of so much of problems faced by the travels, the responsible authorities could not manage their valuable time to look over the matter of the National Highways.
