AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): As the double-lane construction work to get momentum from Udaipur to Melaghar road, a major part of Udaipur subdivision’s BSNL landline connection have been interrupted for an uncertain period of time, with the pillars are already taken out from temporarily, before the eviction drives are to be conducted there.
The disconnection may be extended to 2/3 months, said sources. But the customers have to pay the minimum charges to the BSNL.
The double lane planning was done after the road was declared to be turn into National Highway.
Already, many big trees have been cut on this purpose.
Before many years also, a wave of road-expansion had come at Udaipur, when all the trees beside the roadway were cut, but in later no work was done to expand the roadway.
Now it has to be seen how much time it takes to complete the work.
As the road from Udaipur to Melaghar faces so many accidents, so the double lane construction is very much urgent to diminish the number of accidents.
