AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): US Consul General Kolkata Craig Hall on Friday met CM Manik Sarkar at civil secretariat as a part of courtesy meeting.

US Consul General Kolkata Craig Hall arrived in the state on Thursday and also met Governor Tathagata Roy at Raj Bhawan.

As a part of his visit in the state, US Consul General Kolkata Craig Hall also met CM Manik Sarkar at the secretariat. Craig L. Hall took up his assignment as U.S. Consul General in Kolkata on August 19.

 Immediately before coming to Kolkata, he served as the Deputy Political Counselor in U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Craig has also served in Seoul, Korea; Mosul, Iraq; Canberra, Australia; and Surabaya, Indonesia. Kolkata has a preeminent place in the history of American diplomacy as one of the oldest American Consulates anywhere in the world, and the oldest in India.
