AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Construction work of the double lane of the road from Agatala to Udaipur will take time to complete, said Minister for Public Works on Tuesday.
Talking to TIWN correspondent on Tuesday, Minister for Public Works Badal Choudhury said that for the construction work of the double lane road from Agartala – Udaipur will take time.
It is a contract of 30 months and it will need time to complete the work, added.
It is to be mentioned here that the project of the construction of the double lane road is with the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
The NHIDCL, the fully owned company of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has recently formed a corporation for the North eastern region to take up the double lane project work.
Reportedly for the construction of the 128 km long Agartala – Sabroom NH -44 the road side stalls were evicted from the area.
According to the earlier reports, a total of Rs. 17 crore has been sanctioned by the Ministry for the water supplies under DWS. Besides, a total of Rs. 69 crore has been sanctioned for shifting the electric pole while Rs. 400 crore has been sanctioned for land acquisition.
It is to be mentioned here that the expansion work of the double lane from Agartala – Sabroom covering 128 kilometres is containing.
However, the expansion work of the road has been divided in to two phase. The first phase is around 55 kilometres of Agartala – Udaipur and the second phase is 73 kilometres of Udaipur-Sabroom.
It is to be mentioned here that with the beginning of the monsoon season the progress of the expansion work are going to massively hit.
With the rain hits on the work it will be problem for the commuters to cross the road or to travel through the area.
According to the sources report, if the rainfall does not occur than it will be beneficial for the agency to complete the work as early as possible.
However, with the completion of the work it will be possible for the vehicles to run smoothly and hassle free.
