AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Mid-day-meal, a fully central sponsored scheme, launched for every state’s every schools across the country. Hence it was implemented in Tripura too.

But the mid-day-meals which are made in school campus itself are of very poor quality and sources said that the kitchen and the dinning places’ set ups are unhygienic.

The situation is worst in ADC and rural areas. Hardly there is any school in rural areas, which supplies better quality’s food.

However, it’s to mention here that huge corruptions has been reported under mid-day meal scheme in Tripura.

Tripura students were many time attacked by poisonous mid-day-meal, due to insect and other similar things had been mixed with food grains.

As a result mid-day meal in Tripura is bringing “no such effect” in poor students lives.

Rather than Govt. schools due to the poor quality of Education guardians are interested to send students to the private schools.

In total there are 18 % of decrease  of students’ admission under Mid-day meal scheme has been reported.

147 schools has been recorded for irregular supply of mid day meal to students.
