AGARTALA / IMPHAL, April 20 (TIWN): Three troopers were injured on Wednesday in Manipur when two powerful foreign-made bombs were detonated near Moreh, a town on the Myanmar border. The injured, belonging to the 11th Battalion of Assam Rifles, were evacuated to Imphal for treatment. Police and security forces did not rule out more insurgency related violence in the coming days. President Pranab Mukherjee is due to visit Manipur on April 23 for a state function commemorating the anniversary of the erstwhile Manipur kingdom's last battle for independence against the British on April 23, 1891. Security has been tightened along the border areas ahead of the visit. Tripura is under the threat of NLFT but in border areas Govt. is not taking any action with proper fencing. Locals residing in the border adjacent area have been spending their life being haunted by intrusion of various illegal items in the area. Bomb incidents also held in the state earlier, but govt. has not taken this issue seriously ever. It's to be mentioned here that border area's unwanted incidents has hit whole North East.
During a press meet on Tuesady Biplab Deb, the state president for BJP told media that-----recently BJP leaders of Tripura held a meeting with Rajnath Sing where with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about border issues as due to the negligence of the state govt. illegal intrusion has been rampant here in Tripura via unfenced Indo-bangla border areas. Sumggling of cattle and contraband items are very fluent through unfenced border areas, said Deb.
