AGARTALA, April 3 (TIWN) : Although in town areas, Tripura schools have maximum number of teachers who are hardly engaged to more than 2 classes per day, but on the other hand many schools in rural Tripura are suffering due to teacher shortage.
At Manithanbari school, under Gomati Dist. there is only 8 teachers.
In many schools across ADC areas of Tripura, there are not even more than 2/3 teachers.
As a result Education in those areas is just for the name-sake.
Without teacher Education can not be proceeded.
Tripura although has topped for the highest literacy percentage but due to lack of teachers and infrastructure the quality here is very poor resulting out as only 4% pass out in TET Exam for primary level teachers.
