KAMALPUR, Dec 27 (TIWN): For a road of 3.209 kilometers of length a huge amount of 1, 94, 54, 000 rupees was sanctioned. An additional 23, 00, 409 rupees got sanctioned for five years maintenance after completion. But the road is presently left in deplorable condition, which created resentment among the locale.
The incident occurred at Chulubari area under Kamalpur sub-division. On 19th December, 2014 a road was started from Chulubari up to NEC road. The work was initiated under PMGSY scheme. For the road of 3.209 lengths, a huge amount of 1, 94, 54, 000 rupees got sanctioned. According to the sanction, an amount of 6062.32 rupees approximately was estimated as costing. The road was scheduled to be completed on 18th December this year. But the condition of road remained such deplorable that, plying on that road turned dreadful for the local people. Any commuter dared to ply on the road due to its condition. The road got filled with ditches and pot holes. But the contractor continued his work.
More seriously, the local people alleged that, none of the implementing HSCL got found on the work sight. As a result, the quality of the work remained very low. The locale demanded of stringent action and early.
