KAMALPUR, Dec 25 (TIWN): After the debacle in Civic body poll of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, the Congress Party organized review meeting here on Friday at Congress Bhawan. Along with the workers and all the 11 contesting candidates, the party leadership tried to find the causes behind the debacle and the way out to fight back.

In fact, after the Assembly Poll and Lok Sabha Poll debacle of 2013 and 2014 respectively, the Party never attempted such efforts. And this time when the party received unprecedented jolt in the Civic body poll decreasing back to zero from previous term’s three, then the meeting was organized.

In between the whole day meeting, the Party produced deputation to the OC, Kamalpur police station. In that deputation, the party demanded exemplary and stringent action against the molesting and suspended CPI-M MLA Manoranjan Acharjee. In this regard, a protest rally was also arranged which roamed the different part of the town.

While producing deputation, the leaders spoke against the scam star MLA Manoranjan and criticized the role of police and the government in this issue. The District Congress President Manoj Kanti Deb alleged the State government and its administration trying to safeguard the tainted Manoranjan. The leaders also threatened to continue stir unless Manoranjan got handled with strict implementation of law.
