AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Two women were injured when border area smugglers supported villagers clashed with 195 BN Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Matinagar village of Kamalasagar in Sipahijala district today at 3 pm near the Indo-Bangla border police said. Situation remains tensed.
Trouble started at around 3 pm when a group of workers were working near Border area.
BSF personnel from nearby border outpost (BOP) rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the women who turned into an altercation and then scuffle.
The BSF personnel fired two rounds in the air to disperse the women gathered in the scene.
Two women suffered minor injuries in the scuffle with BSF personnel and two were admitted to hospital.
