AGARTALA, Dec 22 (TIWN): Although according to the Indian constitution there is no difference between a son and a daughter in case of property rights, but the reality is so much different in many families of Tripura till day.
A woman namely Anu Banik (40) has been beaten by her younger brother at her own maternal house when she demanded her property.
According to the sources, Anu Banik was married before 22 years with Chandan Banik, resident of AD Nagar Agartala.
Anu’s father Jhantu Majumdar called all of his children at his house to distribute his property among their names. Anu Banik also came on Monday at her parent’s home. But her younger brother Dipak Majumder started argument as he didn’t want to share his father’s property with his sister.
The matter went worst when Dipak Majumder brutally had beaten his sister and left her critically injured. Presently she is admitted at Kalyanpur Hospital.
FIR has been lodged against Dipak Majumdar on Tuesday.
