AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing civic poll, State Election Department are carrying on with the preparation on full fledged manner.
All the political parties where busy with the campaigning, the state election department is getting ready with the election procedure.
It is to be mentioned here that the printing of the ballot paper has already begun from Monday. According to the sources report, the polling persons will be casting their votes in the ballot paper on December 2 and will continue till December 4.
Besides, on December 8 the polling personnel will be leaving for 49 polling stations along with the election materials.
State chief election commissioner told reporters that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12. Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.
Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayet samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayet is also announced.
Preparation for the election is on the peak for the up-coming civic poll and as a part of administrative routine, altogether Electronic Voting Machines are being scrutinized by the officials for the smooth cast of votes during the civic polls.
To ensure greater transparency and avoid confusion in the minds of voters, the Election Commission has decided that electronic voting machines (EVMs) would henceforth display images of the contestants along with their names and party symbols.
However, the election will commence on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
