AGARTALA, September 20 (TIWN): Along with Nation, Tripura will also celebrate the seven days long 62nd Cooperative Week. The programme will initiate from November 14 and will continue till November 20.
As per the decision taken during the preparation meeting, this year the theme of the programme will be ‘Choose Co-Operatives, Choose Equality’.
The weeklong celebrations provide an opportunity to review the problems and to formulate action programmes for cooperative development.
The commencement of Cooperative Week coincides with the Birthday of first Prime Minister late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a true champion of the cooperative movement. The Cooperative Week is celebrated all over the country.
The preparation meeting was held at the conference hall of the center for Co-Operative Management, Arundhuti Nagar. Co-Operative Minister Khagendra Jamatia has presided over the meeting in the presence of Executive member of ADC Co-Operative Department Dhirendra Reang, Chairman of Tripura State Co-operative Union Dr. Bhrojogopal Roy, Vice-Chairman Satinath Sarkar and other dignitaries.
During the meeting it has been decided that this year along with the nation, the Cooperative Week is scheduled to be celebrated in the State including blocks, Nagar Panchayat and Municipal Council.
Meanwhile, seminars have been organized in seven districts on this occasion.
However, it has been mentioned that a seminar is scheduled to be organized at Sepahijala on September 30.
This year on the auspicious occasion of the 62nd Cooperative Week celebration a magazine name ‘Khorang’ will be released.
In order to complete the celebration peacefully and successfully at the meeting, a state level management committee comprising of 52 members has been formed. Besides, nine members of district level management committee and six sub-committees have been formed.
