KAMALPUR, July 18 (TIWN): The arrested peon of Noagaon branch post office Manjugopal Bhattacharjee was sent to 14 days Jail Custody by the SDJM. He would be reproduced before the Court on 30th July next.
Arrested in connection with the huge embezzlement in Small Savings scam at Noaagaon branch post office unearthed almost two months ago, the prime accused peon Manjugopal Bhattacharjee was nabbed by the police on 15th July last.
On that very day he was produced before the Court of SDJM. Then he was sent to three days police custody. After the custody he was again produced to the court today and sent to 14 days jail custody. It got revealed that police failed to unearth any significant fact from the peon.
In this circumstance, the Court sent him to 14 days jail custody. However, the depositors yet not assured over giving back of their deposited money.
