AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): With the aim to safeguard the forest resources in the area, a new Range Office building of Forest Department at Kamalghat will be inaugurated on July 9.
Beside the inauguration of the Range Office, a Mohanpur block level Van Mahotsav will also be celebrated on the same day at the premises of Higher Secondary School of Kamalghat.
Forest and Rural Development Minister Naresh Chandra Jamatia is expected to raise the curtain of the Range office in the presence of Sabadhipati of West Tripura District Council Dilip Kumar Das.
To make the programme colourful and blissful, a pleasant cultural evening will also be organized.
It is expected that the programme will start in the evening.
Forest range officers are responsible for managing the forests, environment and wildlife-related issues of a forest range within a state or Union Territory of India. The officer is assisted by other state forest officials including subordinate forest beat officers (also known as Forest Guards) and Forest Section Officers (also known as Forester/Round Officer).
Forest Range Officers hold an important role in India. They are responsible to safeguard the forest resources in their range.
Forest Range Officer is the officer in executive charge of the Range and he or she is responsible for the efficient management of the Range, for the custody and condition of all Government Property in his charge and for the discipline, conduct and work of all his subordinate staff.
