AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): To mark the Digital India Week being observed at the entire nation the e-District service has been launched here on Tuesday evening at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. State Chief Secretary Yashpal Singh has inaugurated the programme by launching the service pressing a mouse button.
The programme was organised by the Directorate of Information and Technology, Government of Tripura here at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan after the Wi-Fi hotspot was being launched here at state’s Central Library.
Addressing the programme Secretary for IT Puneet Agarwal welcoming the initiative said that through the Digital India all the activities are moving from manual to e-facilities programme. He also said that Digital India is just the beginning. It is a tool to bring services in transparency in an efficient manner.
However, the citizens can now register for marriage certificates, Survival certificates, Land registrations, SC and other minority certificates, food license and its renewal through online availing the facility of the Digital India.
The "Digital India" launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The core concept of Digital India is to empower digitally up to the village level. It will specially emphasize on cloud computing, fibre optics and will encourage local entrepreneur.
Besides, prior to launch the e-district the Wi-Fi hotspot service has been launched here on Tuesday at Birchandra State Central Library.
