KAMALPUR, July 6 (TIWN): The familiar notion of ATM counter for providing 24x7 service to the customers turned into a mere belief in case of State Bank of India which trumpets the slogan of “ simply bankingâ€. The ATM counter at the sub-divisional head-quarter of Kamalpur turned into a mere show.
The SBI Kamalpur branch inaugurated its ATM service almost three years ago with much pomp and gaiety.
But hardly a fortnight passed that the ATM counter turned into a den of misconduct with the customers. Often the ATM had no money. Further, instead of providing all time service, the counter remained open from 10 am to 9 pm.
For last fortnight, the bank authority never inserted a single rupee in the counter. And as the bank happily announced of having no network connectivity for last four consecutive days, the customers returned broken hearted and humiliated from the ATM counter.
However, the authority remained reluctant enough to remedy this situation.
