AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Anurag Sing Thakur, secretary of Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) and elected secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India in March 2015 met children on MBB College ground-stadium in the presence of Tripura cricket association’s members on Saturday afternoon.
Children flooded in joys after they met Anurag Thakur, whereas Thakur also greeted his plea to meet them, who would the future of Indian Cricket.
Thakur also said that he was unable to focus on the sports dept. of this state, as the main reason behind his visit was ‘Political’. However, adding to that he also said that this would not be his last visit in Tripura, but he would surely again come here.
He also said that BCCI is ready to forward its supporting helps in for any kinds of help related to infrastructure or up gradation of sports. Moreover he also said that Tripura to be got an International Stadium very soon, along with all the possible luxuries bestowing to the players of the state, so that in future many talents may come out of this state.
The main purpose of Anurag Sing’s visit here in the state, was to attend “Yuba Jagaran” programme which was held at Rabindra Bhawan, with the initiatives of State BJP Juba Morcha. However, being a part of the Indian Cricket Association, he sensed the importance to associate himself with Tripura’s cricket organization by which Anurag Thukur has already made a place in young starts heart, report says.
