AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Two-day long session meeting of INPT (Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra) commenced at Agartala Press Club on Friday. This meeting has been started from 2.00 PM, Friday and would be continue till 9.00 PM.
During the meet, the members have discussed about the various action plans to be taken up for the up-gradation of the party along with gaining confidence of the supporters in the rural areas. They also discussed about the proposed programmes of the party and the various organizational issues. They would further finalize necessary programmes of the party at the meet.
After the recent TTAADC election, the INPT is in a devastating position. Most of the INPT members have been leaving the party and joining IPFT (Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura). The TTAADC, which has been playing a key role for the socio-economic development of the tribal people, has jurisdiction over two-thirds of state's geographical area. It was set up in 1985. Notably, tribal people constitute a third of state's 3.7 million people.
However, this leads the INPT leaders to conduct a meet and to discuss about the various proposed action plans and to gain the confidence of the people so that they can grab their position back.
During the meet, President Bijoy Rankhol, General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma, Rajeshya Debbarma, Amiyo Debbarma remained presented. Around 220 functionaries were present in the programme.
It has been expected that necessary directions given to the party leaders with a view to develop party image will help the party to come up with flying colours.
