AGARTALA, April 10 (TIWN): National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Tripura Unit celebrated its 45th Foundation Day with enthusiasm by hoisting its flag at congress Bhavan on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, NSUI State president Bapi Das threw light on history of NSUI, which is the largest democratic students’ union of the world and had been founded by Late Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi by amalgamating Kerala Students’ Union and West Bengal Chattra Parishad on April 9, 1969.
“We shall feel proud to be the part of this union as every great leader has been a part of a student union and NSUI is the only union in the country which has created the leaders,” he added.
He further said that the NSUI takes the pledge to work for the betterment of the student community in the future also and will maintain its legacy. He said that NSUI will organize a host of activities in future which will benefit the students of the State in a larger interest.
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) is the student wing of the Indian National Congress party, formed on 9 April 1971.
