AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 8 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is scheduled to leave Agartala on Thrusday to join North East Council meeting April 9-10 at Delhi. The North Eastern Council (NEC) meeting here on Thursday will review the progress of major infrastructure projects in the country's sensitive region bordering China, Myanmar and Bangladesh, a statement said.The two-day 64th plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) will be chaired by union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh. The meeting will have sector-wise discussions on the major infrastructure projects in the region, and various ministries will give power-point presentations."The ministry of home affairs will give a presentation on border trade - status on integrated check-posts (ICPs), land custom stations, border haats, banks, visa facility," said the statement.
"The Department of Financial Services will give a presentation on financial inclusion and banking services issues in the northeastern region including low credit disbursal ratio (CDR) and agri credit."
"On the second day, the annual plan and the gross budgetary support of the NEC for 2015-16 is also expected to be approved," the statement added.
