AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): ATM counter at the heart of the city catches fire on Monday. The incident occurred at Agartala Kasharipotti area. However later the situation was brought under control before anything major happened.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 PM. Later getting an alarm the fire brigade crews rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The stabilizer of the ATM machine along with some wires was burnt into ashes.  

According to the crews the fire originated from short circuit inside the HDFC ATM counter.
