AGARTALA, April 5 (TIWN): In a tragic incident, an oil tanker carrying diesel bearing number TR01-T-1275 over turned and fell into Manu River on Saturday.

According to sources, the tanker was towards Agartala from Dharmanagar side.

The driver of the oil tanker namely Pramod Nath was saved from calamity. After getting the information police personnel from Manu police station along with officer-in-charge of  Manu police station Babul Das rushed to the spot and supervise the entire rescue operation.

The driver was immediately rushed to the local hospital for treatment where in the attending doctors discharged the driver after first aid, the source added.

On the other hand officer-in-charge of Manu police station Babul Das informed that an enquiry has been ordered regarding the mishap, the source mentioned.
