JACC expels Achai Khasrang Jamatia, reforms new outfit committee

Agartala, February 16 (TIWN): In a surprise move, Joint Action Co-ordination Committee (JACC) has expelled the general secretary of JACC- Achai Khasrang Jamatia with the charges of anti-organization activities.
Due to his expulsion, the JACC has reformed its 8 member outfit committee in an urgent meeting on February 06, said incumbent general secretary of JACC- Bebcharan Jamatia in a press conference at Agartala Press Club, here today.
The newly committee of JACC was re-constituted as- Parendra Debbarma (president), Joy Narayan Jamatia (vice-president), Debcharan Jamatia (general secretary), Binode Debbarma (Asst. general secretary), Milan Kumar Jamatia (joint secretary), Santi Debbarma (treasury secretary), Ghotan Jamatia (convener) and Bijoy Jamatia (information secretary).
He further said, an urgent meeting of tri-coalition outfit (JACC, JARC and JAC) was scheduled to be held on November 22, last year. But without any prior permission from the organization and ignoring the party’s decision, he had organized a press meet and decided to stage a Rasta-Roko agitation on November 17, last year.
On the other hand, Achai Khasrang Jamatia is an NLFT (NB) returnee. Therefore, he does not reserve the right to lead the pre-1998 returnees, said Jamatia.
Consequently, the JACC has expelled Achai Khasrang Jamatia with the charges of anti-organization activities from JACC and BRP as well, Jamatia added.
