AGARTALA, Nov 4 (TIWN): A daring daylight burglary took place in Udaipur's Geet Bharat Pally, where a school teacher's house was targeted. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the homeowner, Chandan Saha, was out for work and his wife, Pappu Majumdar, a teacher at Udaipur English Medium School, was at work.
The burglars allegedly entered the house between 11 am and 2 pm, ransacking multiple rooms and breaking open almirahs. They made off with approximately Rs 16,000 in cash, gold ornaments, and other valuable items. The exact amount of gold stolen is yet to be determined.
The police have launched an investigation, suspecting that the burglary was planned and executed after thorough surveillance of the area. The incident has sparked widespread concern about safety and security in the locality, with residents questioning the effectiveness of law enforcement.
