AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): A delegation from the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) met with the Manager of Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation Limited on Tuesday. The BMS representatives highlighted the struggles faced by workers due to the rising costs of essential commodities and demanded a minimum wage of ?650 along with seven other key demands.
The demands come as part of the BMS's efforts to ensure fair compensation and better working conditions for workers in the state. According to BMS, the current wages are insufficient to meet the basic needs of workers, and an upward revision is necessary to support their livelihood.
The BMS has been actively advocating for workers' rights and welfare in various industries, including plantations and public sector enterprises. The organization emphasizes the need for fair wages, improved working conditions, and social security for workers.
