AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): “I’m so glad today that even though it’s a little late but my bike was recovered by the police and finally I got it back. The bike was stolen on May 23, and today I received it as it is. I’m fully satisfied with the police’s role that they have played to recover my bike,” said a bike owner at NCC PS, who just received his stolen bike after police seized it from the Nandan Nagar area.
The bike owners who received their bikes are --- Abhijit Tripura, Biswajit Banik, Lalen Hrangkhawl.
Not only bikes, but also a gold chain, mobile phones were recovered by NCC PS.
“I appreciate the police’s job and am happy that I got back my gold chain,” Puja Rani Pal said, whose heavyweight gold necklace was stolen by a thief.
Even though the recovery took place a while ago but due to court’s procedure, the items could be returned today only.
OC-Prajit Malakar said, based on a single bike-stealing complaint, police could recover three bikes and in separate cases, gold and mobiles were recovered.
“After the court’s order, following proper procedure, we are now handing over the recovered items,” said Malakar.
However, nobody could be arrested in these theft cases, said the police.
