KHOWAI, April 21 (TIWN): The Govt provides free cellphone facilities to high officials so that they can directly connect to the common men, listen and solve their problems but the SDO of Khowai failed to answer a single call from the suffering people who are in dilemma at the Khowai District hospital due to power-cuts, which led them to stay cut off from health services. After multiple attempts to connect with the TSECL number, the patient parties tried to reach out to the SDO, but they did not get any response from him. The sufferers expressed resentment over SDO’s arrogant attitude toward the people. Since morning, no dialysis has been provided to the Khowai hospital kidney patients due to the electricity disruption.
A patient party who reached at 7 AM to the hospital while talking to the media at 1.30 PM voiced frustration over the poor power services.
“From 4 AM the power cut started, and it’s not possible for the hospital authority to provide generator facilities everywhere. A blood donation camp is going on where the generator is now used. Also in the emergency sector, generator service has been provided,” said an on-duty security guard. “But we never know when the generator will be down. Then what would happen?’
Another patient said, “I have been visiting the hospital for one week, but the same power disruption issues are going on. My wife, who is the patient here, is left in a miserable condition. For one week, I am coming in the morning, but due to the power shutdown, she can not be treated in the hospital.”
