AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): Shankar Debbarma of Champaknagar Balaram Thakurpara, a former member of the NLFT enemy organization, was arrested on Sunday afternoon with sharp weapons and local guns.
There have been allegations against him ranging from killing innocent people to anti-social activities and illegal money collection.
On Sunday afternoon, Shankar Debbarma attacked Sushil Debbarma, a resident of the same village. Sushil Debbarma was seriously injured in the attack centering illegal extortion, as the accused tried to collect money from Sushil Debbarma.
The injured Sushil Debbarma was first shifted to Champaknagar Hospital and later referred to GB Hospital in Agartala.
Jirania police arrested Shankar Debbarma from his house in Balaram Thakurpara.
A sharp takkal (chopper) and a local gun were recovered from his house during a search.
