MELAGHAR, Dec 4 (TIWN): A large police force, led by Melaghar Police Station OC Debashish Saha, and Sonamura SDPO raided a heavy cannabis-growing area and destroyed the cannabis plants.

Police via secret sourced were informed that in the forest department area of ??Rampad Para ADC Village, Lalmai Para, under Melaghar Police Station, cannabis farmers cultivate unlimited cannabis, which is known as the largest cannabis cultivation area there.

The Melaghar Police had information in advance, but due to the lack of a specific numbers of tropps, they could not carry out a cannabis operation in that area until now.

Today,  the police and a large TSR force went to Lalmai Para and destroyed about one lakh cannabis plants.

When these cannabis plants were destroyed, cries were heard from the cannabis farming families in the background.
