PECHARTHAL, Nov 14 (TIWN): A fake travel ticket examiner (TTE) was caught by people on a running train and beaten up. Later, he was handed over to GRP police.
The fake TTE was nabbed at Pecharthal railway station. A similar incident took place in Manu recently which triggered alerts to public when the fake TTE was looking for tickets from the public.
The accused has been identified as Kaushik Sarkar (23), a resident of Sib Bari area in Pecharthal, Unakoti district.
Later the fake TT was handed over to Dharmanagar GRP police station.
Police started an investigation to understand the motive behind this activity.
