AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Police arrested two thieves and recovered 13 gold chains, a wristwatch and a few other expensive items.

The arrested persons are --- Samir Mia of Bhati Abhoynagar and Baban Nandi of Madhya Bhuban Nagar.

Talking to the media, SP West Kiran Kumar said these thieves targeted women in empty places during morning walk-like hours and snatched their chains.

The SP also added there are other complaints against these thieves. For instance, Baban Nandi was caught earlier in bike theft-like incidents.

The seized items would be worth Rs. 16 lakhs, said the SP.
