DHARMANAGAR, July 26 (TIWN): A police personnel involved in drug dealing was arrested. He was immediately suspended from the job. The police constable is involved in the smuggling activities of the North Tripura. On Friday, at least 10,000 banned Yaba tablets were caught in the police net. The police of Dharmanagar police station arrested the accused constable from Damchara area late on Thursday night. The arrested constable's name is Santosh Shil. He was appointed in Damchara police station and for a long time he was operating this illegal work under the shelter of the police uniform. It is to be noted that on Monday afternoon of July 22, during police patrolling in Gita Bhavan area, police seized a Pulsar bike belonging to Jabrul Haque of Assam and a Thar car number AS23AG/8055 in the name of the constable's wife.
Later, it was known that the police constable Santosh Sheel was involved in that drug dealing.
North SP Bhanupada Chakraborty briefed the entire matter in front of media, confirming the arrest of the police official.
