DHAKA / AGARTALA, February 2 (TIWN): One top Bangladesh NSI official told TIWN on Monday : " We hope the government of India and Tripura will crack down hard on this racket before they can cover their tracks". He said many jihadis who are fleeing Bangladesh due to intense security operations against them have been taking shelter in Indian states around Bangladesh."Some of these people may well avail of these rackets, get forged Indian passports and escape abroad beyond our operational range," the official said, adding : " That would be very unfortunate because we want India to catch these jihadis if they have fled our territory.""They must be neutralised but if such passport forgery rackets are up and running, it becomes easy for our fugitives to escape."He said Dhaka will take up this issue with Delhi and may seek details of those Bangladeshis who have received these forged passports to check whether any of them were booked in cases of violence and terror related incidents.
