AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): CPI-M youth wings DYFI, TYF have raised concerns over the increasing drug abuse in society along with the unscientific conditions of the rehabilitation centers.
Placing a deputation to the NHM Director Rajib Datta, DYFI, TYF leaders said, there should be control over drug abuses and drug sales. Otherwise, these rehabilitation centers’ business is only up without giving any relief to society.
The main agenda of the deputation was to claim that the rehabilitation centers are failing to recover the drug-addicted people because they do not have any equipment which are necessary for such a drive.
“Only for the sake of business, the centers have been opened. Although these centers are collecting money from the people, but results with no outcome, because these centers have no such facility to bring the result. Due to that on one hand the drug abuses are increasing and on the other hand, rehabilitation centers are increasing as if there is a nexus between the drugs and rehabs,” said Nabarun Deb, DYFI Secretary.
