AGARTALA, Feb 24 (TIWN): Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday said that in Tripura wind energy is supportive but solar energy is the best option and Govt is planning to generate 500 MW electricity by 2030. Right now, Tripura needs 362 MW of electricity.
He said, use of solar electricity will reduce the electric bill drastically.
“Tripura is in the No-1 position in PM Kusum scheme. 2116 families were provided with PM Kusum scheme in the last 6 years. The owner is giving Rs. 15,000 and the state, and central government are giving Rs. 2 lakhs. More 3000 schemes are on plan,” said Ratan Lal Nath.
“We are now also providing electricity through microgate where electricity is not available. Again, in the case of drinking water, with solar power we have successfully provided drinking water in deep ADC areas,” said Nath.
