TSF calls on 12-hrs-Strike on 28th August (Monday) seeking Roman Script for Kokborok language

AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): A 12 hrs strike has been declared by Twipra Students' Federation (TSF) on Monday, that is 28th August statewide. TSF said, for last 50 years TSF has been demanding Roman script for Kokborok language but the Govt did not respond. “We gave two months ultimatum to the Govt to take our demand to the higher level but seems the Govt has put a deaf and blind notion towards our demands".
"Also we demanded 125 amendment bill to be placed in the parliament but no outcome yet. We are not begging our demands, we are demanding our rights”, said TSF.
“We hope people of Tripura will come forward and support us on Monday. The strike will effect statewide”, said TSF leader.
