AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Based on tip-off, Forest Range Officer of Teliamura Sub-Divisional Forest Department Supriya Debnath was able to recover a large amount of stolen wood on Sunday. At around 11 am, Teliamura Forest Range Officer Supriya Debnath received a tip-off that a lot of stolen wood was lying in an abandoned house in Baganbazar area under Kalyanpur Forest Range. Based on that information, the forest department staff under the leadership of Teliamura Forest Range Officer Supriya Debnath went to Bagan Bazar area with the help of Kalyanpur Police Station and managed to recover 150 feet of teak wood from the abandoned house of a person named Ratan Moni Das. Supriya Debnath said that the market value of which will be approximately three lakh rupees.
However, Ratan Moni Das's statement in this regard is that his abandoned house was given as rent to a person and his initial idea is that this person may have stolen wood.
