AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): The police of Mungiakami police station seized ganja in an anti-drug operation.
The incident took place on Tuesday night in the Mungiakami PS’s 41 Mile area of the Assam-Agartala National Highway.
It has been said that the police were able to seize dry ganja worth about 90 lakh rupees by searching a container vehicle at the Mungiakami police station on the basis of secret information.
Teliamura Divisional Police Officer Prasun Kanti Tripura said, 448 kg of Gaza was recovered by searching the container vehicle number UP78DNO161 at around 10 pm on Thursday night. The police arrested the driver of the car named Ashok Roy, for his involvement in smuggling.
Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was going from Sidhai Mohanpur to Bihar.
