Local people saw the flames from the godown next to the Assam-Agartala National Highway. Immediately, Fire Brigade was informed and the fire engine rushed to the spot on being informed.

Later, another fire engine from Kalyanpur came to the spot.

With the help of firemen and local businessmen, the fire was brought under control.

BJP MLA Kalyani Roy also reached the spot. As per the primary assumption, the cause of the fire is short circuit.
