AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): CPI-M has released a video that shows in front of police the CPI-M party office was vandalized by BJP workers. The footage show, police did not take any action against the miscreants on spot, raising question over the role of police, when CM Dr. Manik Saha claimed that his Govt will not tolerate any violence. CPI-M Sonamura Party office was attacked allegedly by BJP workers during a Victory rally of the BJP there. CPI-M MLA Shyamal Chakraborty said, “Today’s incident has taken place in front of police. A thorough check of the CCTV footage will reveal who are behind the vandalism”.
Shymal Chakraborty alleged, petrol bomb was thrown at the office which caused the fire to the shop. Getting information, police and fire brigade team rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
Shyamal Chakraborty further said, “Apart from CPI-M party office, it’s a densely populated area. Hundreds of shops are here. Today fire could cause massive devastation today”.
