AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): At least eight persons have been injured in a clash between Tipra Motha and the BJP party on Sunday night. The incident took place in Rajkandi village, Fatikroy. A Tipra Motha leader said, BJP while returning from its victory rally attacked the house of the MDC. Two persons are hospitalized after the incident. He said, there was a heated exchange of words after BJP Unakoti Janajati Morcha president Purna Debbarma used bad language against MDC and also threw his shoes at him which caused the clash. Tipra Motha said around 150 goons of BJP had organized the attack.
On the other hand, BJP workers were also injured. Total eight persons were injured in the hospital.
Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Manikya has appealed for peace. On his social media platform, Pradyot Manikya said, “Be patient we will achieve the constitutional solution for our people ! And never indulge in hate or violence - you achieve nothing - if you love me you will fight for your rights but never take away anyones right . Wait and watch”.
